"Move
over Spam...make way for Spit"...from
NewScientist.com
VoIP
uses internet protocols to send information, meaning one message
can easily be sent to thousands of recipients. Qovia thinks this
means the technology is likely to appeal to spammers. The company
ran a simulation showing that a computer could be programmed to
send 1000 messages per minute over VoIP.

Reciprocal Links improve Search
Engine Ranking
Reciprocal links is the online equivalent of word-of-mouth advertising.
And just like its offline cousin, it's the most effective way to
get new business. Reciprocal links between sites that share a common
thread of interest are even better and help both sites upgrade their
ranking status with Search Engines immensely. It's easy to do, it's
free and it works!
CV has put in a lot of hard work and care in building a 'showcase'
link-directory. We value what you have to say and would like to
do our best in extending your reach while you do the same for us.
Everyone in the VO industry is welcome to join us. You do
not have to be a member of CommercialVoices.com to link to us
but keep in mind that "reciprocal" means we both link
to each other. The exercise has no meaning otherwise.
Check out our Links
page do a search to see if you are already listed.
Contact us if you are not there and we will be happy to upload your
link. We trade text for text or graphic for graphic. Sorry but graphic
links must be 171 X 52 pixels in order to retain the integrity of
the page. You can choose from a variety of CV links here.

Broadcast
Services Contract....By CV Member
Here is a "fill
in the blanks" contract concerning VO Services for a radio
station. It may very well be adapted to other applications and is
provided as a basic agreement between two consenting parties. Don't
forget that "intent" is the basis for any agreement and
this should give you a good start as to having something to begin
negotiating with......More

Selecting the Right MIC
A
microphone is basically an energy converter. It takes sound waves
produced by a voice or an instrument and converts them into electrical
energy.
There
are several types of mics available, but the 2 types used most often
for voice recording are dynamic or condenser. A condenser contains
a thin diaphragm that works with a power supply to respond to sound
pressure changes. Dynamic mics produce a signal when sound pressure
moves a coil or ribbon within a magnetic field.......More

Web
site Tips
7 Characteristics
of a Great Web page
This month, I review a few simple concepts that any web site design
should follow.
1. Google Keywords
Picking the keywords for your site is not any easy decision, but
sites like www.goodkeywords.com,
www.wordtracker.com
and www.nichbot.com can help
in the decision making process.
2. Simple Design
Keep it simple. Your pages should be direct and professional. Be
sure to check spelling and grammar and that your web site works
in the major browsers. Keep in mind that most of your visitors will
leave if they have too many options or get confused.
3. Optimized
By this I mean search engine friendly. Without getting into a lot
of details, your HTML code needs to be clean, META tags in place,
and your navigation needs to be consistent and as close to the beginning
of your HTML files as possible.
4. Easy Navigation
It is surprising how many sites have broken links. Make sure all
your links works and provide an accurate description of the content
they link to.
5. Fresh Content
Keeping new, fresh content on your site will help bring your visitors
(read potential customers) back. Fresh content can also impact search
engine ranking.
6. Bookmark able
Make sure your site is bookmark able. Some sites require logins
and keep session information. If your site does, make sure that
a user returning to a book marked page is properly directly to that
page, even if they have to (re-)login first.
7. Cool / Wow
Factor
You need something that makes your site unique, but remember to
keep it professional. The “wow factor” does not have
to be visual - it can be content driven. High-quality, fresh content
is always a good choice. If you are looking for the “visual
wow”, hire a professional graphic artist – you won’t
regret it.
