CV's Producers+....
How it works
Our Producers+ feature is unique in the industry.
We offer a free talent search for our clients gathering dozens
of custom VO auditions from the very best voice talents. The process
works quickly and is always on or under budget. This opportunity
is made available to all of our Platinum members.
Here is an example of the information and requirements we request
from our members .
http://commercialvoices.com/TalentSearch.php
Once we receive all of the auditions we upload
them for the client to audition. You will notice that there are
no names or prices, the client makes his voice(s) choice based
on talent alone. Here is what the client receives

Marketing
on line
By Peter Drew
The Voice-Over Revolution
The Internet is revolutionizing the voice-over business. Today quality
remote recording of voiceovers can be done virtually anywhere. With
a PC, mic, and Internet connection, almost anyone can set up shop
as a voice talent.
A few years ago, a remote session entailed a voice over talent
standing in a commercial production house studio, say, in L.A.,
taking direction over the telephone through a “phone patch”
from, say, New York City.
The next innovation in remote recording was the satellite link.
It sounds great on either end, but it’s very expensive, so
it’s suited only for sessions with the biggest budgets and
most expensive talents.......More

VO
pricing?
It's getting crazy!
Contributed by Paul Boucher
Once again I'll point to the union 'base' or "scale"
as it's referred to, as the best objective pricing model out there.
It's accepted as the norm in most places *worth working for*.
Without getting into the complexities of conditions of contract
etc, it's still possible to price your product sensibly, while not
cutting the knees out from under the industry even as a non-union
member. Please note that I completely understand the need to be
non-union in many jurisdictions - I'm just saying that you have
a model you can use without the attendant complexities of contracts,
adherence letters and all the other stuff that sometimes makes clients
go screaming in the other direction.
An example:
Recently I was asked to quote for two 30 second TV spots for the
Canadian Coast Guard. The project originated from Ottawa, but was
being produced in Calgary. The client wanted to use the spots nationally
for 26 weeks (two cycles of use in union parlance - through September
anyway).............More

Web
site Tips
Multiple website addresses
Over the last month several people have asked me how they can have multiple website addresses (also known as domains) point to the same site. An example would be www.mycompany.com and www.mycompany.ca both going to the same site.
The answer to this question is domain pointing/redirecting. Talk to your ISP,
they should be able to register as many new domains as you require
and then point them all to the same site. Just be aware that you
will be required to pay the registration fee for each new domain
name.
