The Secret Voice
Reaching Your Highest Potential

“There are two ways of spreading light; to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it.” --Edith Wharton

This is my commitment every day when I get out of bed. But it’s especially prevalent for me during this special time of year--festive candles and lights are burning everywhere I turn, reminding me of this most important responsibility I have: to shine my light and to reflect yours.

With current world events and religious diversity reflected in every newspaper, every street corner and every store, and even among my family, friends and colleagues, I can’t help but reflect on how crucial it is to keep the light burning within me, at all costs, no matter how challenging life’s circumstances.

Here are some ways I commit to keeping my fire burning and my light shining in 2008:

  • Align myself with my highest purpose each day.
  • Be the person G-d intended me to be.
  • Work diligently to keep my demons at bay.
  • Feel the wellbeing inside of me.
  • Learn from my mistakes; use my struggles to grow and shine more brightly.
  • Be grateful for my past; it has created who I am today.
  • Continue teaching, helping and serving others.

Finally, nothing feeds my soul or helps my candle burn more brightly than spreading goodness to others. Rabbi Aaron Moss states, “The more goodness we spread, the more goodness we have. There is an endless supply of light in your soul. You will never run out of goodness.”

May all our lights burn brightly and radiate in 2008.

How to Use an e-Booklet to Promote Your Business.....by Frank Frederick

Use e-Booklets to Create a "Viral" Marketing Campaign

Viral marketing is a strategy that encourages your customers to pass on, or spread, a marketing message to others. Like a virus, your message has the potential to spread exponentially throughout online communities.

With e-Booklets, you now have a hot new way to take advantage of this powerful strategy to drive qualified buyers to your website by offering tons of valuable information--and encouraging clients and customers to share the information with their friends and cohorts..................More

    Interview with a Voiceover Guy
    by Peter Drew

I was contacted by a new media publication to do an interview about voiceovers. They sent questions for me to answer via email. I sent back my responses to their questions, but realized later that I needed to make a change before I signed off on it, giving the publisher permission to quote me. Rather than make the change, the publisher decided to pull the interview from publication instead of making the change. So, I thought, instead of wasting a perfectly good interview, I’d publish it myself. Here’s that article, intact except for a few changes I decided to make, since I’m now, well, in essence, interviewing myself.

So PRESTO! You are the Producer?....Rick Gordon

Your new company website is online and as part of the content there will be a voiceover done by a professional and since you have a wonderful voice the boss has decided you should be the one to get the job done. GREAT! Well....errrr.........where do I start?

This can be a very complex and time consuming project so I will just give you the jest of it using a very short President's welcome to the your new website.

The very first thing you will need is a script. Don't even think about VO talent at this point. It is absolutely imperitive that you have a perfect script that all will agree upon, especially the President....more

Steps to Marketing Your Website (This month #2)....Mark Pelisek

    This Month: Participate and Network

    Personal Branding

Personal branding is a way of marketing yourself online using social networking sites. Using your company's marketing message, "set up shop" by creating a page or profile on the site's system, and then by being active on the site. To start, try these:

Set up your profile completely in the StartupNation Community, including listing your products in the StartupNation Marketplace.
Create a complete profile at LinkedIn, and then search for family, friends, and colleagues past and present to add to your networking list. (As a bonus, we highly recommend giving the people on your list recommendations that you feel qualified to give -- often times, the gift is returned!)
Find other networking communities like Ryze and The Small Business Forum to set up a profile at and introduce yourself.
Depending on your product and online needs, you may find it beneficial to also set up a profile at Facebook, MySpace, Yahoo! or YouTube. You should also set up profiles in any of the additional forums you identify below......More
