Bouncing
emails?
Ever had this
happen to you? Everything is going just fine and then all of the
sudden you get a call from a client or co-worker saying their emails
to you are bouncing? WHAT??! They’ve always received them
before and you haven’t changed any settings or touched anything,
even by accident that would disrupt the status quo right? (this
is where you can fill in your own expletive). If this has happened
to you, keep reading! If not, tuck this in the back of your head
just in case it does happen to you!
Now that you know someone on your normal sender/recipient list is
suddenly receiving an error message saying that “this recipient
doesn’t accept emails in Non Western (Non Latin) character
sets”, how do you fix it? .......More

Finding
the Natural Rhythm in Voiceover copy
by Peter Drew Breathe in. Breathe out. In. Out.
Thankfully, breathing’s an automatic bodily function. But
it’s not so automatic when you’re faced with a piece
of copy that needs to be voiced.
Finding the natural rhythm and breath points in a piece of copy
are major keys to a natural sounding read. Ideally, you shouldn’t
have to parse copy to find its rhythm. If all copy presented for
voice over was written for the ear, with attention paid to how people
naturally speak, then there would be a lot more one-take recording
sessions. Since so much copy for voice-over is not written for the
ear, it’s a good idea to have an approach to locating its
most natural phrasing and breath points.......More

The
Voice Talent and The Recording Studio Relationship.....
There was a time
when most all talents HAD to have a relationship with a recording
studio,
to book their jobs for them and to have a place to record for
others. The talent needed the studio because the agencies and
producers looking to hire voice talents relied on the studio for
suggestions and listened to demos to decide whom to use for their
v/o projects. Talents had to travel to other cities for some jobs
if that's where the studio was located. Then ISDN came along and
this relationship changed. Then came along MP3 and other computer
programs and the relationship changed again. And maybe not completely
for the better........More

Why
"Old School" May Lead to "More School"
From Edge Studio
While its roots go back to the early days of radio (early 1900s),
voice over has only been a main-stream profession since the 1980s,
and it's only been a common household name since approximately the
year 2000. During its short life, there have been many transitions.
And not everyone who speaks about voice over is up-to-date. Therefore
many people speak about the voice over industry "the way it
was" as opposed to "the way it really is.".....More

Web
site Tips
Using Meta Tags in your web site
What are meta
tags? They are information inserted into the "head" area
of your web pages. Information in the head area of your web pages
is not seen by those viewing your pages in browsers. Instead, meta
information in this area is used to communicate information that a
human visitor may not be concerned with. The most common use of Meta
tags is to assist search engines in the ranking of your site.
When selecting your keywords for your description, it is best to list
them within a phrase. Try to concentrate on only a few keyword phrases
throughout your text. Try not to repeat your META keywords more than
three times. To cover the many different ways your potential visitor
may type in their search terms, type your META keywords in a few different
styles.
Some tools, to help you create your Meta Tags can be found at:
